Bellamy heaps pressure on Middlesbrough.

Its no surprise that the bookies have reacted to Craig Bellamy joining Cardiff by slashing the Bluebirds from 14-1, to a top price of 10-1 on them lifting the championship title.

I remember when Bellamy was leaving Newcastle United after 4 years, I was forever saying Boro should go in for him.

The critics said he was too much trouble. He’s an angel in comparison with Mido, he plays games and doesn’t sit on his backside getting money under false pretences.

Last season he made 40 appearances for Manchester City, scoring 12 and creating umpteen goals for his team mates. He was arguably City’s player of the year.

The bad boy tag has followed him wherever he’s gone, but if you look at on the park over the last 8 years he has been sent off only once.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones must be absolutely delighted with his new arrival. To get Bellamy on a years loan, at the peak of his game and injury free is some coup. I would go so far as to say its the most outrageous signing of the summer.

Enough on Bellamy.

Sheffield United at home on Sunday, It’s a game we have to win to stay in touch with QPR and co.

Strachan has certainly got his work cut out regarding the starting eleven, with Flood and Thomson ruled out.

In 3 games Strachan has chopped and changed consistently, this has to stop .

In 2 league games we’ve had 3 shots on target in open play, that’s a frightening statistic.

Boyd and McDonald have been starved of service, this must change.

Brad Jones finally signed for Liverpool for an incredible £2.3 million, I wish him all the best.

Stand in Jason Steele has been excellent in the last 2 games, but there is no doubt Strachan will bring in a number one keeper.

Sundays opponents have obviously appointed Gary Speed as the new manager, after the sacking of Kevin Blackwell and no doubt the Blades will be a lot sharper than in there opening 3 performances.

If Hartlepool can beat Sheffield, surely we can!

What do you think?…..

I agree about Bellamy. would of loved him here…..the guy is a prat, (how many clubs has he had?? not counting the one he used on a Liverpool team mate) but he is very talented and was fantastic against Man U last season where single handedly almost got them a deserved point…for me he was their player of the year

On Boro I think we’ll get a point at the weekend. Teams with new managers tend to do well, and I think the players will respond well to Speed

Not sorry to see the back of Jones…great deal for Boro

The loan signing of Bellamy definatley puts Cardiff a fair way ahead of Boro in terms of quality and goals in there squad if they were’nt allready.Chopra and Bellamy with quality creative midfielders like Burke and Whittingham creating for them will certainly shake the championship up.If they can avoid any serious injuries they will take some beating.

Back to the Boro i think the pressure is back on Boro to get busy in the transfer market before now and the deadline with the current squad as it stands lacking in a few key areas.Sunday’s game against Sheffield Utd is a must win if we fail to fire soon we will find ourselves a fair way detached from the likes of QPR and Cardiff and with a mountain to climb.Im going for a 2-0 win on Sunday we have to start our season sooner or later.

Easier said than done, how would you change it? In my opinion we dont have the players at the club to do so.

Halliday is injured and a new project, he wont feature. Kink looks terrified when he comes on the pitch, and Williams hits a wall once he gets near the box. So we are stuck with the 4 man centre midfield.

O’Neil Robson Bailey Arca will be the midfield which will remain ineffective until we buy 2 players.

Until then I think we should scrap the Boyd McDonald forward line, and put Miller up front with Boyd. At least then we have someone to win the ball when we lump it forward.

    Hi Peter,

I would play Killganon left back, Bates right back, Kink outside left, Barry Robson on the right and i would put Bailey and Oneil central.

Hopefully Strachan signs a natural right sided winger before the window closes.

26 year old (Right Winger) Chris Burke comes off the bench for Cardiff and scores again in a 4-0 win thats 2 goals in two and half games and he set the second Cardiff goal up aswell.Come on lets get a bid in Boro he would be a perfect fit on the right.
